HVAC Product Data Specialist

We serve as the industry’s system-of-record, leveraging proprietary technology to provide unprecedented visibility, context, and actionable insights into commercial and industry asset portfolios on an enterprise scale. Our platform empowers users of all experience levels to instantly access critical, high-resolution asset metadata - specifications, features, performance levels - using only basic asset nameplate information like model, serial number, and manufacturer.

We are looking for a highly detail-oriented HVAC Product Data Specialist to meticulously collect, process, standardize, QA, and catalogue detailed asset specification data. You will be actively involved in thorough quality assurance reviews, analyzing trends for process improvement, and collaborating cross functionally to enhance data management strategies.

Responsibilities:

Technical Data Extraction:

  • Dive into HVAC manufacturer documentation (eg, Spec Sheets, Manuals, Parts Lists, etc) to extract precise technical data on commercial and industrial HVAC assets

  • Accurately identify and capture critical asset information, including make, model, serial numbers, performance specifications, and feature sets

Data Capture, Maintenance and Standardization:

  • Input extracted data into structured databases following predefined formats and taxonomies

  • Ensure data consistency and standardization across all entries, maintaining a clean and reliable database

  • Leverage tools, such as Excel or database platforms, to manipulate and organize data

Quality Assurance (QA) and Validation:

  • Rigorous cross-checking and validation of existing codebase and databases to identify and correct inaccuracies

  • Maintain an organized repository of manufacturer documentation for reference and verification

Process Improvement and Calibration:

  • Collaborate with the Product and Data Engineering team to refine data collection processes and improve efficiency

  • Provide feedback and suggestions for data structure improvements

  • Develop a thorough understanding of the data platform's infrastructure to enhance data integrity and guide data structure optimization

Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of commercial and industrial HVAC equipment and terminology

  • Prior or current experience working for an OEM or distributor preferred

  • Deep familiarity with technical data and manufacturer specification sheets

  • Ability to interpret and translate complex technical specifications from manufacturer specification sheets

  • Maintain a high standard of data accuracy and attention to detail

  • Efficiently work with large volumes of data while maintaining quality

  • Collaborative mindset and an ability to work cross-functionally with ease

  • Proficient use of Excel for data analysis including formula construction, data analysis, and roll-up reporting

  • Ability to learn and work with user-friendly database tools that streamline data management

  • Self-motivated with strong organizational skills and a meticulous approach to data management

  • Basic programming or scripting experience a plus
