PHP Symfony Developer

eCommerce | Hybrid in Hyderabad, India | Full Time

Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated PHP Symfony Developer to join our support team. The successful candidate will primarily focus on troubleshooting and resolving issues related to our APIs, which fetch hotel prices and availability from our clients' APIs and return them to metasearch engines like Google, Tripadvisor, and Trivago.

Job Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  • Collaborate with the support team to address tickets assigned for price, availability, display issues, and API upgrade requests.
  • Work closely with clients and their developers to diagnose and fix issues with our API integrations.
  • Ensure high accuracy in price reporting to maintain an "Excellent" price accuracy score on metasearch engines. Develop and utilize test cases to perform QA on various applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve price issues reported by metasearch engines during price accuracy tests.
  • Participate in the migration of existing scripts to Symfony.
  • Handle data integration from clients' APIs delivering messages in XML, JSON, or CSV formats.
  • Occasionally implement or debug JavaScript code as needed.
  • Manage tools like Jira, Confluence, Zendesk, and Postman for project and task management.

Non-Essential Functions:

  • It would be helpful to understand client-server architecture, MS Windows services, web server technologies (IIS) and general networking knowledge.


Required Education and Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in a similar domain
  • Proficiency in PHP development.
  • Experience with MySQL databases.
  • Familiarity with Symfony or a willingness to learn and adapt to Symfony.
  • Understanding of XML, JSON, and CSV formats.
  • Basic knowledge of JavaScript
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients and team members.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Experience with support ticketing systems like Jira and Zendesk.
  • Knowledge of API testing tools such as Postman.
  • Previous experience in a support role or a similar position.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 12.00 PM to 9.00 PM India Time. Work schedule may include evening hours or weekends due to client needs per manager instructions.


This position may require up to 10% travel. Travel may be outside the local area and overnight.
