Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.
With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position is responsible for the evaluation of transfer credits based on the Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR), Maryland Higher Education Commission’s guidelines (MHEC), the Transfer with Success Act (MHEC), and College policies and procedures in alignment with curriculum. This includes the evaluation of transcripts from post-secondary institutions, military coursework and experience, credits for prior learning, international transcripts, and coursework as recommended by the American Council on Education (ACE).
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
- Review, research, and analyze courses to determine course equivalencies in collaboration with internal and external constituencies.
- Determine course equivalencies in conjunction with analyzing courses satisfying graduation requirements.
- Complete transcript evaluations, re-evaluations, and authorization of transfer credits as approved by the Registrar.
- Maintain and update all aspects of the Transcript Evaluation System (TES).
- Respond to emails and phone calls regarding transcript evaluations and inquiries.
- Serve as a contact person and resource for matters related to transcript evaluations
- Assist with the review of degree audits.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.
- Assist with coverage for the Registration Office as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Education:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in higher education or a related field with similar functions.
- Fluency in technology skills and databases, including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/Access/Outlook).
Skills/Training:

Scheduling Requirements:
- Varied schedule will include day, evening, and weekends based on the needs and functions of the department.
Physical Demands:
- This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
Work Environment:
- Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving
