Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

JOB SUMMARY:
The Custodial Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that all campus facilities are maintained in a safe and efficient manner through the following duties:
Due to interaction with students, employees and college community this position requires in-person presence.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Plans, coordinates, and schedules daily campus-wide custodial activities.
· Assigns daily duties to custodians and monitors progress and workmanship.
· Maintains inventory for the campus custodial supplies and procures as needed.
· Reviews and approves time sheets and leave slips for the custodial staff.
· Conducts all safety and occupational training and maintains records of such.
· Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal safety and environmental regulations.
· Ensures compliance with all College rules and policies.
· Participates in hiring new employees and terminations of custodial staff.
· Assists with developing and implementing quality assurance guidelines.
· Assess employees and perform performance evaluations; probationary, and permanent.
· Works with outside vendors on obtaining best pricing and materials.
· Performs any needed custodial work such as vacuuming, general cleaning, trash disposal, etc.
· Provides guidance and technical advice to staff.
· Assists other departments as required.
· Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO PERFORM WORK:
· Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
· Experience: At least five (5) years of custodial experience, including supervision. Employment experience in a college or university setting is preferred.
· Skills/Training: Ability to work well with others throughout the campus community. Good Oral and written communications skills.
· Proficiencies: Proficiency in Microsoft Office products including Outlook, Word and Excel.
SCHEDULING REQUIREMENTS:
Typical schedule is M-F 6am -2 pm but must have the ability to work a flexible schedule during inclement weather, and special events that may require evening, Saturday and Sunday work hours.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Must be able to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 lbs. The
physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and sitting.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The worker will be subject to dust, noise, fumes, and odors. The worker will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. Safety equipment will be provided where needed and required to be worn or used.

This is a non-exempt (hourly), overtime eligible position; Grade 110 (pay scale:$21.96-$35.14/hr). The hourly rate for the position based on budget is between $21.96-$25.00. Applicants initial salary placement is based on internal equity and relevant candidate experience.
