Inventory Control Specialist

About Us:

Casaplex, an electronic systems integration company in the Washington DC area is seeking qualified individuals to work in our warehouse. The position would be 35 hours weekly including Saturdays and possible additional hours when needed. 

Applicants should be motivated self-starters with the ability to follow directions and translate written instructions/work-orders into finished product.


Warehouse/Inventory Control:


Typical work activities include:

  • Liaising with staff, suppliers and transport companies

    • Ability to communicate inventory status for upcoming jobs from information in internal company database.  

    • Attendance to Weekly Project Review Meetings to communicate status of inventory and needs

    • Placement of purchase orders.

    • Contact with vendors to keep up to date on status of shipment, and tracking information

    • Set-up Shipments - LTL and Common Carrier to vendors, clients and other branches.

    • Work with PM/Sales with any questions regarding inventory purchasing/returning/Change orders, etc.

    • Liaising with shipping companies (LTL and Common carriers) to ensure the most timely and cost effective shipping methods.

    • Briefing team members on a daily basis

      • Ability to deploy staff effectively according to schedule and budget


  • Database Maintenance

    • Keeping all purchasing contacts are up to date in internal database

    • Keeping all price lists up to date in internal database

    • Building of items into database (parts and equipment)

    • Maintain shipping account information in database


  • Purchasing

    • Purchase all inventory for projects and service calls utilizing inventory workflow

    • Planning future capacity requirements

      • Setting Parts/Materials minimum/reorder levels

        • Ensure that commonly used parts and materials are available consistently reducing the need for last-minute trips or expedited shipping to gather materials.

      • Ensure that staff is prepared with materials for varying job sites

        • OSHA Compliancy/Construction site requirements

          • hard hats, vests, ladders, etc.

    • Warehouse Supply Purchasing

      • Ensure that all items needed for the warehouse are in stock and ready for use.


  • Receiving

    • Merchandise purchased through vendors for projects/service calls in database.

    • RMAs (utilization/management of RMA process)

    • Inventory adjustments of unused parts/wire in the database (wire and tech inventory)


  • Staging

    • Forecasting/Planning/Coordinating the movement of  Inventory for Projects and Service Calls

    • Picking of products for upcoming projects/service calls to ensure timely and accurate and timely dispatching of staff (according to schedule)


  • Shipping

    • Shipping of Products through inventory workflow for projects and service calls for multiple branches

    • Shipping of RMA merchandise back to vendors


  • The efficient utilization of space

    • Warehouse organization

      • Warehouse is organized according to company layout.

      • Ensure that warehouse is 100% clean before Monday morning (trash out/ cardboard in recycling/floor swept/etc)

      • Ensure that scrap materials are sold/donated/discarded


  • Keen understanding and coordination of inventory control system

    • Solutions 360

      • It is imperative that all existing and new processes are documented so they are easily understood by any other employee or replacement can conduct day-to-day activities in case of absence


  • Inventory Control/Reporting

    • Weekly Cycle Counts

    • Quarterly Inventory

      • As initial inventory counts are built, total variance (up or down) of less than 5% equipment during quarterly inventories.

    • Producing regular reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis

    • Track Company-Owned tools and equipment as they are utilized

      • Sign out/in tools as they leave/enter the warehouse

        • Ladders

        • Testing Equipment (Fluke)

        • Labelers

        • Termination equipment

        • Power tools


  • Overseeing the planned maintenance of vehicles, machinery and equipment.

    • Planning vehicle maintenance

    • Maintaining truck stock

    • Signing out of company assets (Tools, equipment, etc)

  • Office Administration

  • Answer phones courteously, screen and forward calls, take messages

  • Fax, Copy, and Scan documents as needed

  • Maintain neat and professional office workspaces

  • Help maintaining centralized contacts list

  • Ordering of Office Supplies

  • Basic Accounting Team Help - Minor Data Entry for reporting
