A leading podcast and audiobook company is seeking a Metadata Coordinator. The successful candidate will work as part of a team that accurately edits Table of Contents (ToC) and series relationships. They work closely with internal teams to ensure the metadata they own is published correctly, accurately, and promptly. The ideal candidate has one or more years of professional proofreading, copy-editing, and fact-checking experience in publishing.

Metadata Coordinator Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $30/hr
  • Worksite: Leading podcast and audiobook company (Newark, NJ 07102 - Hybrid)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
  • 40 hours/week, 9 Month Assignment

Metadata Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Table of Contents Grooming: Responsible for fact-checking, copyediting, and organizing ToC data received from internal and third-party sources in adherence to our style guide.
  • Series Relationship Research and Curation: Fact-checks and curates our series pages for online display to customers, in accordance with internal best practices and customer feedback. They timely evaluate new releases for correct association with existing series pages, or create new series pages based on their research, which may involve aggregating data from multiple third-party resources, internal teams, customers, or authors.

Metadata Coordinator Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of professional proofreading, copy-editing, and fact-checking experience in publishing.
  • 1+ years of experience in Web-based publishing environment.
  • B.A., B.S., or equivalent degree, preferably in the humanities.
  • Experience in podcast and audiobook companies is preferred.
  • Data-entry awareness and experience.
  • Familiarity with Chicago Manual of Style, Web-based research tools (e.g., Google) and SEO concepts.
  • Technical proficiency in Windows operating environment.
  • Fluency in Outlook, Excel, and MS Word.
  • Demonstrated multi-tasking and problem-solving skills in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide variety of people, effective presentation skills,
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • An avid consumer of online media, including books (audio and print), blogs, podcasts, and other digital content.
  • A self-starter with impeccable organizational and analytical skills.
  • A confident and upbeat communicator via written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented.
