Jr. DevOps Engineer 9894 

A leading professional networking and development company is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will work as a part of the team to design, implement, and audit configuration management policies in Puppet. The ideal candidate has UNIX/Linux systems knowledge background. Jr. DevOps Engineer Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $65-$75/hr
  • Worksite: Leading professional networking and development company (Remote - Must work PST hours)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k
  • 40 hours/week, 6 Month Assignment, possible extension or conversion

Jr. DevOps Engineer Responsibilities:  

  • Work as a part of the team to design, implement, and audit configuration management policies in Puppet.
  • Build new Puppet Policy Servers and Git repo replica servers.
  • Plan for Puppet upgrades, test, and roll new releases out in a staged global deployment.
  • Maintain documentation for the team to use when updating policies, responding to pages, building new sites, etc.
  • Develop and maintain infrastructure services to support Puppet, including Redis servers, synchronization from other tools, etc.
  • Monitor infrastructure services, deploy and maintain relevant monitoring tools.
  • Automate routine tasks and provide documentation for tools and processes used to maintain the infrastructure services.

Jr. DevOps Engineer Qualifications: 

  • 5+ years in a Unix environment (Linux preferred).
  • B.A./B.S. degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • UNIX/Linux systems knowledge background.
  • Must have front-end development experience.
  • Automation and scripting experience in any of the following: Python, Shell, Perl, Go.
  • Must have Python/OOP language experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills, including application, OS, and network layers.
  • Experience with Puppet and Azure (or other Cloud platforms)
  • Configuration Management using Puppet (preferred)
  • Linux administration including kernel tuning and hardware diagnostics.
  • Experience using Git (preferred) or Subversion with ReviewBoard or similar tools.
