In this role, you will be a strategic advisor to sales support the field in structuring commercially viable, non-standard transactions. You will work cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Customer Success, Legal, Sales Operations, and Product to ensure that informed business decisions are being made. This will range from driving individual deal conversations with the Sales Teams to defining global policies and functionality requirements. You will help define new business models, strategies, and processes relating to the Sales and GTM strategies. 

Responsibilities:

  • Be an inspiring Deals Desk leader
  • Partner with the sales organization to problem solve and structure strategic deals
  • SME and Go-To for sales, finance, legal, etc. for formalizing non-standard deal structures
  • Work cross-functionally across stakeholder groups; finance, legal, sales ops, order management, to help facilitate deal approvals/closure
  • A creative solutioner who finds a way to meet customer’s needs within the booking policies and systems framework
  • Participate in drafting commercial language and terms: build out the non-standard terms library
  • Review, research, and approve non-standard pricing requests
  • Manage discounts and gross margins
  • A fast-paced actor with an ability to manage volumes within a defined SLA
  • Lead initiatives such as the development of dashboards, metrics, and system capabilities to gain better viability into deals
  • Participate in designing, testing, and troubleshooting automated deal management functionality
  • Perform ad hoc reporting and analysis for management 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience working in global finance, revenue, or deal desk role
  • Software/XaaS experience required
  • BA or BS degree in Business Administration or Finance
  • Experience in negotiation and managing deals in a direct and channel/service provider environment
  • Strong understanding of accounting standards and revenue recognition; working knowledge of ASC 606 a plus
  • A thorough understanding of the sales process and the ability to navigate and progress complex deal structures
  • Strong business acumen with excellent communication skill, both written and verbal
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure, dependable with deliverables and deadlines, and able to multi-task
  • Adept at business partnering and working with cross-functional teams, building meaningful business relationships along the way
  • Experience with Salesforce, CPQ, and Excel
