A leading medical institution is seeking an Anatomy Learning Center Coordinator - Educational Programs. The successful candidate will provide daily anatomy laboratory support for the teaching activities of the School of Medicine and the School of Dentistry. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Anatomy Learning Center Coordinator Pay and Benefits:
- Hourly pay: $26/hr
- Worksite: Leading medical institution (San Francisco, CA 94143 - Onsite)
- W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program, PSL
- 40 hours/week, 2 Month Assignment
Anatomy Learning Center Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Select and place out prosections from the specimen collection.
- Assist with setting up practical anatomy exams alongside the faculty.
- Manage the anatomy laboratory maintenance, set-up, and cleaning, and act as a steward over a vast irreplaceable collection of embalmed cadavers, skulls, brains, hemiheads, pelvises, joints and limbs, and human skeletons.
- Procure embalmed and fresh specimens, mix chemicals to maintain specimen viability, ensure proper storage and accurate labeling, maintain current inventory, properly dispose of biohazardous wastes, coordinate when specimens are received and their cremation, assist with bisection in the dental anatomy laboratory and assist in dissecting to generate prosections.
- Assist with the implementation of professional health educational activities, which may include program competencies, curriculum, and exams.
- Consul with the teaching faculty about what will be needed for their anatomy classes: anatomy instruction guides uploaded on iPads, anatomy models, prosections, and tools, then set up accordingly.
- Properly dispose of biohazardous waste, effectively sterilize tools and teaching areas, prepare scrubs and towels, etc for laundering, and help ensure both anatomy laboratory BSL-2 level certifications.
- Assist with logistics and coordination for educational activities, which include simulation, virtual reality (VR), and other activities.
- Support professional health education program learners.
- Coordinate program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.
Anatomy Learning Center Coordinator Qualifications:
- 1+ years of relevant work experience in an anatomy or similar laboratory is preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
- Excellent political acumen and good judgment, including the prior use of discretion in the workplace, as well as maintaining confidentiality in matters of body donors, exams, student grades, and assessments.
- Proven ability to work effectively with a variety of individuals and perform as part of a team.
- Communication skills; include verbal, written, and active listening. Service-oriented and responsive to questions and requests.
- Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within the department and with learners.
- Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. The ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars/schedules requires extremely well-organized and detail-oriented precision.
- Excellent demonstrated record of attendance and reliability.
- Knowledge of anatomy laboratory protocols and procedures is preferred.
