On average, U.S. students are with substitute teachers for 5% of the typical school year. That means our students have substitute teachers for more than six months of their K-12 school career. The problem? We're suffering from a national shortage of substitute teachers.

Swing Education is a tech startup based out of San Mateo, CA focused on tackling the substitute teacher shortage. We make it easy for great schools and quality subs to find each other. We help schools access more subs and offload tedious work (recruiting, screening, payroll, etc.) and we help subs find jobs, gain experience and build their professional network.

POSITION SUMMARY:  

The Senior Manager of Revenue Operations will contribute to the growth of Swing Education’s marketplace by providing technical expertise of best-in-class GTM tools, strategic thinking and elegantly designed processes, and key insights, reporting, and analysis to the Revenue team. 

As a key member of the Revenue team, you will collaborate closely with Customer Success, Sales, Marketing, and SDR teams to reach net revenue retention (NRR) and new sales goals. You will report into the VP of Revenue and act as a strategic advisor to Swing’s go-to-market leaders (CEO, COO, VP Revenue, VP Marketing).

An ideal candidate for this position is a strong business and technical thinker who can anticipate and adapt to business needs while building scalable systems and processes. The candidate should be analytical, proactive, take projects through from initial speccing to completion, and enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative, and innovative environment. 

This role is a leadership role that starts as an individual contributor building a RevOps team over a period of time (candidate should be ready to roll up their sleeves).


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Fully own revenue tech stack - evaluate, provide business case, negotiate/select, refactor, implement and optimize. Ongoing management of tools to ensure effective usage and realization of value expected.

  • Standardize and consolidate data capture and organization, creating accurate, timely, repeatable sources of data for revenue team

  • Monitor and maintain data quality within GTM systems

  • Ensure all GTM systems operate efficiently and scale according to our company growth

  • Own business intelligence/insights function for revenue team - drive internal reporting improvements and empower revenue teams with valuable insights to share with customers

  • Identify trends and patterns in key health metrics to identify and escalate areas off track from target and opportunities for growth 

  • Create and maintain reports on revenue activities, effectiveness, and business impact to drive productivity of revenue team

  • Implement weekly reporting of key performance metrics including new business forecasting, funnel analysis, and pipeline management

  • Enable strategies for pipeline optimization, deal flow and velocity, pricing and monetization

  • Drive strategy and solutions to optimize Revenue team’s ability to generate more revenue through new sales, upsell, and customer retention

  • Maintain and communicate rules of engagement, pricing, and process maps

  • Evaluate new technologies and add-on applications to improve and optimize go-to-market team performance

  • Assist with reporting for board presentations and investor presentations

  • Help design and implement variable compensation plans for Sales and Customer Success teams

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Hire and build out a RevOps team over time


REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • BA/BS degree in quantitative or business field.

  • 5+ years work experience as a revenue operations, sales operations, or business operations professional 

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities:

  • Extensive experience managing HubSpot, Salesforce, SalesLoft, Gainsight, or other CRM and Sales/CS enablement tools

  • Strong business analytical skills with experience in data analysis tools such as SQL. Advanced proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools a plus.

  • Experience setting up programs related to upsells and renewals

  • Track record of building trust and strong working relationships across the organization to deliver results

  • Proven success building processes and facilitating workflows across multiple departments

  • Ability to craft metrics, reports, and dashboards for all revenue team members

  • Analytical mindset with proven ability to understand and solve complex problems and systems

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to build relationships effectively cross functionally 

  • Curious, learning mindset coupled with excellent investigative skills

  • Proactive, entrepreneurial self-starter, naturally takes ownership and looks for opportunities to drive business results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

Environmental:

Currently all staff are working remotely during the COVID-19 pandemic until further notice.

Remote expectations

  • Employees are to be online and accessible for 8 hours, Monday to Friday. The company’s core business hours are from 9:00am - 5:00pm PT

  • Tools will be provided for communicating with team members and collaborating on projects.

  • Meetings will be scheduled over video conferencing. Times are to be discussed and agreed upon between the employee and manager.

  • Employees are advised to choose a safe and secure location to work from, and to maintain high levels of safety.
