Job Summary
The Warehouse Inventory Specialist is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring proper stock levels, and supporting the efficient flow of goods throughout our company. This role plays a critical part in optimizing our supply chain and meeting customer demand by minimizing discrepancies and maximizing product availability. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and possess a strong understanding of inventory management principles.
Responsibilities:
● Fulfill Work Orders and Transfer Orders from Warehouse
● Picking inventory for production assembly
● Perform regular cycle counts and physical inventory counts to verify accuracy between system records and physical stock.
● Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, including shortages, overages, and misplacements, by tracing transactions and collaborating with other departments.
● Monitor inventory levels, identify potential Shortages or excess inventory, and communicate findings to relevant stakeholders (e.g., purchasing, operations).
● Process incoming shipments, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and ensuring proper labeling and storage of products.
● Move material inside the factory as required by internal teams
● Manage outgoing shipments, verifying order accuracy and preparing products for dispatch.
● Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other inventory software to track inventory movements, generate reports, and update records.
● Organize and maintain the warehouse layout for optimal space utilization, accessibility, and efficient retrieval of goods.
● Inspect and report damaged or defective products, coordinating with quality control and returning departments as needed.
● Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inventory accuracy, efficiency, and overall warehouse operations.
● Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material handling equipment safely and efficiently.
● Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
● Assist with other warehouse duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
● High school diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree or relevant certification in logistics, supply chain, or a related field preferred.
● 1-3 years of experience in a warehouse or inventory control role.
● Strong mathematical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
● Basic Experience with Google Suite, Microsoft Office
● Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
● Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Skills and Experience:
● Knowledge of general Supply Chain Standards and processes (e.g. FIFO/LIFO, RMA, QC, Kitting, Transfer Orders)
● Experience with cycle count methodologies and reconciliation processes.
● Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain.
● Experience with Excel Google Suite, Microsoft Office, Jira
● Experience with 5S, Continuous Improvement, Lean and other manufacturing improvement processes
● Proficiency with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Odoo)
Physical Requirements
● Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs)
● Stand/Walk for 8+ hours Daily
● Navigate warehouse and reach items both high and low
Location: This position is in Alameda, CA. Our waterfront office offers beautiful views of San Francisco Bay in always sunny Alameda.
