Job Description:
Position : Principal Electrical Engineer (Controls & Power Systems)
Location : Houston TX
Duration: 12+ months - Contract to Full time
Core Skills Required to Perform the Role
Electrical system design for mobile equipment
Controls engineering (PLC/embedded controls, sensors, actuators)
Power system design (power distribution, protection, grounding
Ability to develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs)
Design verification using empirical and analytical method
Application of industry standards (IEC, IEEE, UL, ISO, API as applicable)
Risk assessment and risk mitigation planning
Implementation of new technologies in electronic system design
Strong technical documentation and design review skills
Cross-disciplinary collaboration and mentoring

Self-starter with ability to work independently under broad direction
Detail-oriented, especially in design verification, safety, and documentation

Experience supporting process improvement initiatives

Education Requirement
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
Preferred: Master’s or Doctoral degree in Electrical Engineering or similar
Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience
Required / Preferred Certifications
SafeLand USA (commonly required for oil & gas environments)
H2S Awareness (preferred/required depending on exposure)
Electrical safety training (e.g., NFPA 70E) – preferred
