CNC Router Operator

Manufacturing | Sacramento, CA | Full Time | From $20.00 to $26.00 per hour

Position Summary: The CNC Router Operator will produce machined parts by programming, setting up and operating the CNC router. Promotes safe practices while operating router to appropriately achieve an exceptional cut of material.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Includes the following, as well as other duties that may be assigned.

  • Reads blueprint and/or job order for product specifications including dimensions and tolerances, and tooling instructions such as fixtures, feed rates, cutting speed, depth of cut
  • Determines sequence of operations.
  • Selects, positions, and secures tool in tool holder (chuck, collet, or tool post).
  • Positions and secures workpiece holding devices, machine tables, chuck, centers, or fixtures.
  • Ability to use equipment to position tools and work pieces in relation to each other.
  • Sets specified feeds, speeds, and depth of cut.
  • Observes operation of machine and verifies conformance of machined work piece to specifications.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Proficiency with producing parts using CNC machinery.
  • Proficiency in using standard fabrication and warehouse equipment.

Education and Experience: (Required and preferred educational and experiential qualifications)

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years’ experience in a fabrication/production role
  • CNC Programming experience is a plus

Work Environment (Warehouse/Machine Shop): The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. Certain areas of the work environment may have elevated noise levels and require hearing protection.
