Position Summary: You will be handling real projects with challenging geometries, multi-surface trims, and diverse materials. This isn’t repetitive, low-skill work — you’ll set up your machine, make adjustments on the fly, and collaborate with production and quality teams to keep things running smoothly.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Knows how to set up tooling, adjust feeds and speeds, and keep machines performing
- Can read blueprints and G & M code to get parts right the first time
- Checks their work, troubleshoots issues, and keeps production moving
- Takes pride in doing quality work efficiently and safely
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, with plenty of variety and opportunity to build your skills. You’ll see your work go from raw material to finished product, and you’ll have the chance to grow into programming, CAD/CAM, or leadership roles over time.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Set up machine tooling to trim plastic parts accurately in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Read code, drawings, and work instructions to operate machinery correctly
- Interpret product specifications, dimensions, and tolerances from blueprints and job orders
- Design and build fixtures to assist in trimming formed plastic parts
- Perform inspection and verification to ensure parts meet quality standards
- Work with the Quality team to correct non-conforming parts
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized machining area
- Perform daily equipment inspections and scheduled maintenance
- Identify process inefficiencies and suggest improvements to the production team
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Fanuc control experience
- Vacuum workholding experience
- Experience machining plastics
- Mastercam, SolidWorks, or other 3D CAD software
- CNC trade school certification
Education and Experience:
- 2+ years of machine operation experience (5-axis routers a plus)
- Comfort reading and writing G & M code
- Experience with measurement tools and hand tools
- Understanding of cutting tools, feeds and speeds, and tool setup
- Knowledge of GD&T principles and precision measurement
- Ability to troubleshoot, think on your feet, and work independently
- Safety-first mindset in a manufacturing environment
- High School Diploma or equivalent
Licensing/Certificates: CNC certification a plus. Must be forklift certified.
