Wireless Communications Engineer

Connectivity Solutions | Hybrid in Metairie, LA | Full Time

Job Description

This candidate should be highly skilled and experienced Wireless Communications Engineer with a strong background in telecommunications, particularly in In-Building Cellular and Public Safety Radio Distributed Antenna Systems. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in project design and development activities.

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Lead the selection of production hardware for projects.
  • Develop and validate RF designs using iBwave software.
  • Review and approve construction drawings, including system block diagrams, wiring diagrams, rack elevations, and conduit/cable routing drawings.
  • Prepare and approve product specifications and related documentation.
  • Write scope of work documents and equipment purchase specifications.
  • Interface with the major wireless network operators and clients throughout the project life cycle.
  • Review vendor data sheets to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Lead and manage teams of Engineers, Designers, and Drafters.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Exceptional collaboration, interpersonal, and client engagement skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in RF design development and validation.
  • Proficiency in iBwave software.
  • Experience with Sweep, PIM and CW testing and system troubleshooting is preferred
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing engineering teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (B.S.E.E.), preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in wireless communications, with a focus on In-Building Cellular and Public Safety Radio Distributed Antenna Systems, required.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast United States, required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
