Summary

We are seeking a seasoned, detail-oriented and organized Human Resources Generalist to join our team. With 8+ years of well-rounded HR experience and a strong focus on talent acquisition, this role will be responsible for supporting full-cycle recruiting efforts while also managing core HR functions such as employee relations, compliance, and HR systems.

The ideal candidate understands the unique challenges of hiring and retaining technical professionals, including engineers, project managers, and field specialists. You will be a trusted advisor to managers and leadership, ensuring we attract and retain top-tier talent while fostering a strong and compliant workplace culture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Recruiting

o Lead full-cycle recruitment for technical and administrative positions across the company, including requisition creation, sourcing, screening, and interviewing.

o Collaborate with department managers to define job requirements and effective sourcing strategies tailored to engineering and technical roles.

o Identifies and implements efficient but effective recruiting methods with strategies based on the available role, industry standards, and the needs of the organization.

o Build and maintain a pipeline of qualified candidates through proactive outreach, industry networking, employee referrals, and career fairs.

o Manage job postings, ATS workflows, and candidate experience from application through onboarding.

o Screen applications and select qualified candidates.

o Schedule interviews; oversee preparation of interview questions and other hiring and selection materials.

o Assist with the interview process, attending and conducting interviews with managers, directors, and other stakeholders.

o Analyze recruiting metrics to identify trends and opportunities to improve time-to-fill, candidate quality, and hiring outcomes.

o Represent the company at recruiting events and university engagement efforts (especially engineering schools and co-op programs).

Human Resource Support

o Conducts or acquires background checks, drug screenings, employee eligibility verifications, and screenings for random require programs.

o Assist in scheduling clients require training and site access.

o Performs routine tasks required in assisting the human resource team including but not limited to benefit administration/census request, leave management; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; training and development and employee lifecycle documentation (onboarding/offboarding).

o Maintain confidentiality when discussing and processing employee absences and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters.

o Provide additional support with open enrollments, changes, and training for employee benefits programs.

o Respond to human resources-related inquiries with a timely response.

o Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local employment laws.

o Assist with compensation reviews, job description updates, and organizational structure alignment.

o Contribute to HRIS (UKG) optimization, system maintenance, and reporting accuracy.

o Partner with cross-functional teams such as safety and finance to align HR efforts with business objectives.

o Perform other administrative duties, such as assisting with maintaining employees’ records and other sensitive items, as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities

o Proficient in applicant tracking systems (preferably JobScore), job boards, and sourcing tools.

o Proficiency in HRIS systems (preferably UKG) and Microsoft Office Suite.

o Strong understanding of HR laws, hiring practices, and employment branding.

Education/Experience

o Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred.

o At least eight years of progressive HR experience with at least 3 years focused on recruiting technical talent, required.

o Previous experience supporting an engineering, construction, or technical services firm is highly desirable.

o PHR, SHRM-CP, or similar certification, strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements

o Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

o Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
