The Maintenance Technician, working at our research farm in Lafayette, CO, will be responsible for general facilities maintenance and equipment repairs on an as needed basis.  This hand’s on position includes completing maintenance and repairs to electrical systems, equipment, heating and air conditioning systems, etc. The Maintenance technician will be accountable for the safe maintenance, repair and/or replacement of equipment and systems to ensure production quality and quantity objectives are met in accordance to the company’s standards.


  • Perform preventive and predictive maintenance on various equipment, pumps, machinery and related items
  • Identify equipment maintenance, repair and replacement needs
  • Perform routine mechanical, pneumatic and electrical maintenance (lubrication, inspection, replacement parts)
  • Install various pieces of equipment, pumps, machinery and related items
  • Install utilities and help with some facets of construction
  • Manage the use and inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies
  • Coordinate outside repair contractors
  • Clean greenhouses, office and surrounding yard area to maintain a professional and orderly appearance
  • Attend/conduct monthly safety meetings
  • Effectively communicate through teamwork with all employees, management, and owners
  • Special projects as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of maintaining equipment such as  motors, drives, air compressors,  grinders, water pumps, PLC/HMI controls, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulics experience
  • Experience and ability to operate skid-steer loaders, tractors and pallet jacks
  • Must to able to read and understand directions proficiently
  • Ability to write up records of maintenance and work performed
  • Demonstrated experience balancing multiple priorities, which can change throughout the day
  • Must be able to work outside in any weather conditions
  • Must be able to lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be willing and able to work around pesticides
  • Must work well with others
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Capable of working with little to no supervision and take ownership of role and responsibilities
  • Must be committed to working safely and following safety guidelines
