Document Control Manager

Newark, CA

The Document Control Manager will be responsible for the management, administration of Arena PLM and control documentation workflows and design configuration in the Document Control / Configuration Management activities to ensure the timely and correct submission of engineering and product documentation to manufacturing, customers, internal teams, vendors, including product baselines in ERP / MRP systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Arena PLM Administrator for Freewire Technologies for the QMS;

    • Manages and tracks document and configuration workflows

    • Create and manage configuration rules and BOM structure standards

  • Defines, supports, and provides training to staff for document control and configuration management including drawings, prints, schematics, work instructions, data packages, ECOs, and data capture in ERP / MRP systems.

  • Liaise with customers, internal teams, and vendors on documents, ECOs, data packages, and data in ERP / MRP systems

  • This includes, but is not limited to, the following:

    • Manage Document Change Orders (DCO)

    • Manage Engineering Change Orders (ECO)

    • Manage Non-Conformance System (NCx)

    • Distribution of Internal Controlled Documents

    • Distribution of External Controlled Documents

    • Periodic Audits of Document Control Systems

    • If necessary, establish Documentation Control Procedures/Work Instructions

    • Maintain the Training Program

  • Maintains document and change control tracking/submittal/control system.

  • Prioritizes based on production and programs schedules, maintaining a minimum turn around time.

  • Responsible for controlling and ensuring integrity of product baselines, including Change Control Board (CCB) leadership.

Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent required; ARENA Administrator Certification

  • Document Control experience of 4 years or more required

  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of ISO 9001:2015 implementation and maintenance

  • Must possess excellent computer skills especially databases and word processing with proficient working knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook/Gmail

  • Must possess strong technical writing and editing skills

  • Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Must be able to handle changing priorities and multitask in a fast-paced environment

  • Strong knowledge of Product Lifecycle Management (Arena)

  • Experience in writing clear, concise documents and training activities

  • Leadership experience or training

  • Self-motivated/self-starter

  • Strong writing, documentation, and speaking skills

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment
