SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

The Renewal Specialist will serve as the primary sales interface for renewals, ensuring seamless contract renewals and maintaining strong relationships with our clients. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, Customer Success, and Operations, to manage renewal contracts, pricing and client communications.

As the Renewal Specialist, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts with the goal of achieving 100% on-time renewal rates while proactively identifying risks and opportunities. Your ability to analyze client needs, maintain accurate forecasts, and execute strategic renewal initiatives will be key to driving customer retention and satisfaction.

100% Remote - Anywhere within the US

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Act as the primary sales interface for renewals, ensuring a smooth and timely renewal process for clients.

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to process renewal contracts, pricing, and client agreements.

  • Serve as the first point of contact for internal and external renewal-related requests, including customer-facing, operational, pricing, quoting, and contract facilitation.

  • Maintain accurate up-to-date pricing across a large portfolio of BOCES clients.

  • Manage and maintain renewal forecast data for assigned accounts in the CRM system.

  • Develop and execute creative strategies to exceed projected renewal targets and maximize client retention.

  • Proactively engage with at-risk accounts, collaborating with Account Executives and Customer Success to ensure account health and mitigate renewal risks.

  • Initiate and lead renewal discussions and assigned clients, negotiating contract terms and pricing as needed.

  • Follow a defined escalation process for issues uncovered during the renewal process.

  • Process quotes and renewal documents in a timely and accurate manner.

  • Monitor customer usage to ensure proper license entitlement and compliance.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience in account management, client retention, or a related field.

  • Strong leadership, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proven experience in effective account management and customer renewal processes.

  • Ability to guide and develop teammates to support successful client retention efforts.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse internal and external audiences.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM software (such as Salesforce)

  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multi-task and manage competing priorities.

  • Experience with negotiation and conflict resolution, with a proactive and strategic approach to client renewals.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

  • Willingness to travel up to 5% of the time as needed.

Preferred

  • Experience in K-12 education settings or familiarity with BOCES agreements.

  • Background in supporting Marketing, Sales, RFP processes, or customer acquisition efforts.

  • Previous experience with data management and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
