Summary of the Role:

The Data Analytics Engineer will play a crucial role in enabling data-driven decision-making across the company, while ensuring that our data infrastructure scales alongside our rapid growth. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify, gather, design, implement, and optimize BI tools, reports, and dashboards that empower decision-makers with timely and accurate information. The ideal candidate possesses a strong understanding of data modeling, data pipelining, and business analysis, coupled with the ability to translate complex business and technology requirements into effective BI solutions.

Essential Functions:
  • Data Management and Operations:
    • Maintain data inputs into the data warehouse, ensuring data quality, security, and performance.
      • Create and maintain data pipelines in a Databricks medallion architecture to support critical business use cases.
      • Develop audits to measure the quality of data loaded into the data warehouse.
      • Work with source systems’ data stewards to resolve any data quality issues.
    • Maintain a data governance strategy, policy, and standards.
    • Maintain supporting data services on the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Report and Dashboard Development:
    • Create interactive and visually appealing reports and dashboards using BI tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau, Power BI, etc.).
    • Customize and enhance existing reports to meet evolving business needs.
  • Business Analysis:
    • Work closely with business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs.
    • Translate business requirements into technical specifications for BI solutions.
  • Performance Optimization:
    • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in BI solutions.
    • Continuously monitor and improve the performance of BI reports and dashboards.
  • Documentation and Training:
    • Document BI solutions, data models, and processes.
    • Provide training and support to end-users on BI tools and applications.
Qualification and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Economics, Finance, Computer Science, Information Science, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst, Data Engineer, or similar role.
  • Experience writing of Python and SQL for data manipulation, transformation, and for analytics, especially using Apache Spark
  • Experience with Databricks desired.
  • Strong expertise with SQL and non-SQL databases, cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their related services (S3, BigQuery, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with BI tools such as Looker, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
  • Experience with DevOps desired.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
