Software Architect - Fintech

Job Summary

We are currently looking to connect with experienced professionals in the FinTech domain, particularly those with strong expertise in payment systems, payment orchestration platforms, and proven experience at a Solution Architect level.

At Convo, we are seeking forward-thinking professionals who can blend deep technical expertise with strong stakeholder engagement skills, enabling the delivery of scalable and impactful solutions across complex financial and payment ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in designing and building end-to-end payment platforms from scratch, including multi-gateway integrations, transaction routing, and cloud-native architectures on AWS.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead end-to-end solution architecture for payment platforms, orchestration layers, and financial systems.
• Design scalable, secure, and high-performance architectures handling high transaction volumes.
• Architect payment orchestration systems including smart routing, failover, retries, and reconciliation.
• Integrate with payment gateways, acquirers, card networks, and alternative payment methods.
• Design systems supporting authorization, capture, refunds, subscriptions, and tokenization.
• Drive system integration, modernization, and digital transformation initiatives.
• Implement event-driven microservices architectures and real-time processing systems.
• Ensure compliance with PCI-DSS, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into scalable solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, governance, and mentorship to engineering teams.

Required Experience & Skills:

• 15+ years of experience in software engineering/architecture with strong FinTech exposure.
• Proven experience building payment systems or orchestration platforms from scratch.
• Strong understanding of microservices, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Hands-on expertise with AWS (EC2, Lambda, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS, SNS, API Gateway).
• Experience designing high-availability, fault-tolerant, and multi-region systems.
• Deep knowledge of payment flows, gateway integrations, and financial data models.
• Strong understanding of security practices including encryption, tokenization, and secrets management.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to drive technical discussions and lead client-facing engagements.
