Senior Software Engineer - Java + MongoDB

Job Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Java Developer with extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining scalable backend applications using Java and MongoDB. The ideal candidate should possess strong expertise in building high-performance, secure, and reliable enterprise applications, with hands-on experience in modern Java frameworks, RESTful APIs, and NoSQL databases. The candidate will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver robust software solutions aligned with business requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java.
• Develop and consume RESTful APIs and microservices following industry best practices.
• Design, implement, and optimize data models using MongoDB.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA engineers, and frontend developers to deliver high-quality software solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and reusable code while adhering to coding standards and best practices.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, and database queries.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve production and application issues efficiently.
• Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and architectural decision-making.
• Work with version control systems (Git) and follow Agile/Scrum development methodologies.
• Ensure application security, reliability, and compliance with software development standards.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 5–6 years of hands-on experience in Java backend development.
• Strong proficiency in Java (Java 8/11/17+) and object-oriented programming principles
• Hands-on experience with Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Data, and Spring Security.
• Strong experience working with MongoDB, including schema design, indexing, aggregation pipelines, and query optimization.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with message brokers such as Kafka or RabbitMQ is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL or PostgreSQL is desirable.
• Proficiency with version control systems such as Git.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is an advantage.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) is a plus.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
