Position Overview:
The Grants Manager contributes to CISNC’s success by generating funds that ensure sustainability and growth.
The Grants Manager reports to the VP External Affairs and collaborates with colleagues across the organization, especially with the program and finance teams. This position takes a proactive role in prospecting for and preparing accurate, timely, well-crafted grant proposals. The Grants Manager also works closely with program staff, finance, and other organization leadership to craft accurate, timely reports to funders and agency stakeholders. This position also supports overall development department functions including but not limited to donor stewardship activities, special events, and other duties as assigned
Essential Duties:
CISNC Grant Writing & Reporting (75% of time)
- Proactively prospects for, researches and writes compelling grant proposals that garner funding in support of CIS programs from a variety of sources: foundations, corporations, government, civic groups and more.
- Produces timely, accurate grant reports for funders that accurately reflect the work of CISNC.
- Works closely with Finance, Program staff and others to prepare accurate, timely reports to funders and other CIS stakeholders.
- Keeps complete and accurate records; maintains accurate annual grants and reports calendars detailing upcoming grant and reporting deadlines.
- Shares information related to grant proposals, reports, and funder requests to ensure all CISNC departments have a clear understanding of the roles, expectations, and information needed to complete quality proposals and reports in a timely manner.
- Participates in interdepartmental meetings to create, review and strengthen grant proposals that advance the organization’s work.
- Accurate and timely record keeping including file management.
- Continual upkeep of a grants calendar and grants reports calendar.
Affiliate Grant Writing & Report Support (25% of time)
- Proactively prospects for, researches and writes compelling grant proposals that garner funding in support of CIS Affiliate across the state from a variety of sources: foundations, corporations, government, civic groups and more
- This may also include providing grant or report review/edits, offering best practice guidance, and other grant-specific support to affiliates as requested.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, or related field or equivalent job experience.
- 5+ years' experience writing and securing grants
- Technology savvy in Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point and SharePoint.
- Valid North Carolina driver’s license and insurance.
