Position Overview

The Legal Intern will support CINQCARE’s Legal Department in conducting research, preparing documents, and assisting with a variety of legal, regulatory, and compliance matters. This role provides the opportunity to gain exposure to healthcare, corporate, employment, and privacy law in a fast-growing mission driven organization. The ideal candidate is detail oriented, curious, and passionate about using legal skills to advance health equity.


Key Responsibilities

· Conduct research and summarize findings related to healthcare, corporate governance, privacy, and other relevant areas.

· Draft, review, and edit documents and presentations.

· Assist with maintaining contract templates, records, and document management systems.

· Support department initiatives, including tracking regulatory updates and assisting with business processes.

· Participate in meetings with internal stakeholders and external partners, taking notes and preparing follow-up materials.

· Help prepare presentations, reports, or briefing materials for the Legal team and leadership.

· Assist with special projects and perform other administrative or support duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education:

· Currently pursuing a degree in any field, preferably with an interest in law, compliance, healthcare, healthcare management, business, or other related areas.


Experience:

· Prior internship or work experience in legal, healthcare, compliance, business, or policy environments preferred but is in no way required.

Technical Skills:

· Microsoft 365 ecosystem (SharePoint, Teams, Outlook, Planner)

· Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

· Ability to draft and edit documents with accuracy and attention to detail.

· Strong research skills; familiarity with Westlaw or LexisNexis preferred.


Soft Skills:

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Highly organized with excellent time‑management abilities.

· Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

· Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

· Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.

Training:

Must complete all HIPAA and corporate compliance training immediately upon hire.


The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:

In-office work is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with air conditioning, artificial light, and an open workspace. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 10 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
