About You

The Data Strategist should have the following qualifications:

  • Education: Undergraduate degree in a quantitative field, including Economics, Statistics, Data Science, Information Technology, Business Analytics, Social Science, or a related field. Advanced Degree (preferred, but not mandatory): Master's or Ph.D. in Data Science, Business Analytics, or a related area can be advantageous.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience working in relevant technical domains with Predictive Analytics, Data Science, or Artificial Intelligence solutions. Experience in management consulting or start-up environments is desirable. Prior experience in healthcare is not required.
  • Entrepreneurial: CINQ seeks to fix gaps that have persisted for generations in delivering care to Black and Brown populations. This position is accountable for ensuring CINQ is positioned to deliver on its promise through innovative artificial intelligence.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to clearly articulate and present complex concepts and models in an accessible manner to CINQ’s team, investors, partners, and other stakeholders.
  • Technical Awareness of multiple data-related domains, including data management and analysis (Familiarity with database management systems, e.g., SQL, NoSQL, and data analysis tools, e.g., Python, R), Data Integration, Statistical Analysis, Machine Learning, Data Visualization, and their associated tool (GitHub &c.), familiarity with the environments where they are deployed (Google Cloud, AWS &c.), and Bias Detection & Elimination.
  • Relationships: Ability to build and effectively manage relationships with business leaders and external constituents.
  • Culture: Excellent judgment, impeccable ethics, and a strong team player; the desire to succeed and grow in a fast-paced, demanding, entrepreneurial Company.

About the Job

CINQCARE is seeking a Data Strategist to lead a transformative role in reshaping how data is used in health and care. Collaborating closely with the head of product and cross-functional data teams, the Data Strategist will curate and refine a foundational data asset, ensuring it accurately represents the communities served by CINQCARE. Your mission will involve driving strategy, closing data gaps, introducing innovative sources, eliminating bias, and ensuring data becomes a vital tool for CINQCARE's mission.

Primary Responsibilities & Duties

The Data Strategist’s primary responsibility will be to curate and refine a foundational data asset, ensuring it portrays an accurate and culturally sensitive representation of the individuals and communities that CINQCARE serves. To keep this asset relevant and dynamic, the Data Strategist will:

  • Formulate a forward-thinking product strategy that pinpoints business needs.
  • Identify existing gaps in the data and suggest remedies.
  • Introduce innovative data sources to broaden the asset's scope.
  • Generate prosperity data, ensuring it adds meaningful value.
  • Quantify and eradicate any structural biases to uphold the integrity of the information.
  • They will be the driving force behind leveraging this data. By advocating for technological integration, personalization, user-friendly analytics, and actionable insights, they'll ensure that the data is an invaluable tool for CINQCARE's mission.

The Data Strategist will have the following responsibilities:

Ownership:

  • Curate and refine a foundational data asset, ensuring it's representative and culturally sensitive to the communities CINQCARE serves.
  • Defining what data elements and models will compose the core data asset. They will work to expand it by identifying and acquiring new data sources and prioritizing their integration in the form of a product roadmap.
  • Continuously review and update the data asset to keep it current and relevant.

Strategy Formulation:

  • Design and implement a product strategy that aligns with business requirements.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams, especially data engineering and data science, to ensure strategy alignment.

Gap Identification & Resolution:

  • Analyze the current data assets to identify any gaps or inconsistencies.
  • Work on remedies to fill these gaps, ensuring data completeness and accuracy.

Bias Identification & Elimination:

  • Develop and implement an approach to identify, quantify, and mitigate structural bias in the core data asset and the associated machine learning models.

Data Collection:

  • Define requirements of new data sources to expand and enhance the data asset's comprehensiveness.
  • Ensure that integrating new data sources does not compromise the quality or integrity of the existing data.
  • Identify technologies necessary to capture data from current operations, including marketing, care coordination, and member engagement activities.

Data Creation:

  • Collaborate in developing consumer touchpoints to generate purposeful and intentional ‘net new’ data.

Data Activation:

  • Define strategies and deliverables for activating the core data asset throughout the business, including targeting, personalization, self-service analytics, and reporting. Development of prototypes when needed or appropriate.

Continuous Learning & Development:

  • Stay updated with the latest trends, tools, and best practices in data strategy, ensuring that CINQCARE remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.
  • Attend workshops, conferences, and training to hone skills further and bring new ideas to the organization.

The working environment and physical requirements of the job include:

This position requires both in-home and office-based work. In-office work is performed indoors in a traditional office setting with conditioned air, artificial light, and an open workspace.

In this position you will need an ability to communicate with customers, vendors, management, and other co-workers in person and over devices, sometimes with people who are agitated. Regular use of the telephone and e-mail for communication is essential. Sitting for extended periods is common. Must be able to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents. Lifting of up to 30 lbs. occasionally may be required. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office equipment such as computer terminals, calculator, copiers, and FAX machines. Good reasoning ability is important. Able to understand and utilize management reports, memos, and other documents to conduct business.
