Position:

We are looking for an energetic IT Support Technician to join our team. The selected individual will be responsible for providing end user technical support, installing computer hardware/software and troubleshooting problems. In addition, this role will provide network and server infrastructure support as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide in person, over the phone and remote computer technical support
  • Promptly respond to customer requests, troubleshoot network and computer related problems
  • Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot end user workstation hardware, software, and peripheral devices
  • Assist in installing, monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting network and server infrastructure including physical and virtual servers, switches, routers, wireless access points, and firewalls
  • Schedule and perform regular computer equipment upgrades including firmware, operating systems and application updates
  • Interact with third party hardware and/or software vendors by initiating and supporting vendor services as necessary
  • Maintain accurate inventory and supporting documentation for hardware and software
  • Stay abreast of emerging technology to support future company needs, validate new technologies proposed for use
  • Provide training to staff on various technical subjects

Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ experience in computer/network support
  • Patient, well organized, energetic, positive attitude and customer oriented
  • Can work independently and ensure that the job is getting done
  • Willing to work one weekend day per week
  • Occasional evening work is expected for installations and/or troubleshooting
  • Proven analytical and creative problem-solving abilities
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have a meticulous eye for detail
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds of technical equipment

Technical Requirements:

  • Working knowledge of Windows 8.1/10
  • Working knowledge of Office 2016/2019 (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Experience with Windows Server 2012/2016/2019
  • Knowledge of server, computer and office equipment hardware: installation, maintenance, repair and upgrade
  • Experience with enterprise networking and infrastructure management tools and services (AD, DHCP, DNS, etc.) is a big plus
  • Can pull and route Cat5/Cat6 cables, terminate network jacks and patch panels

Education:

  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Information Systems or equivalent
  • CompTIA A+ or Net+ is a plus
