Inventory Payables Staff Accountant

Finance | Hybrid in Bannockburn, IL | Full Time | From $70,000 to $80,000 per year

As we continue to expand, we’re seeking a detail-oriented Staff Accountant to focus on inventory and accounts payable operations. This role will report directly to the Accounting Manager and play a critical part in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our operational excellence.

Position:

The Staff Accountant will oversee financial processes related to inventory and accounts payable, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in posting, payments, and analysis. This position requires collaboration across departments to maintain proper product costing and provide insights into inventory management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Post financial invoices for inventory receipts with accuracy and timeliness.
  • Verify that correct duty costs are applied to bills and inventory records.
  • Maintain and reconcile the accounts payable ledger for inventory-related transactions.
  • Manage and process wire payments for inventory purchases, including domestic and international transactions.
  • Perform inventory analysis for foreign factory operations, ensuring alignment with company financial objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments, including procurement and operations, to ensure accurate product costing and resolve discrepancies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Relevant experience in accounts payable, inventory accounting, or a similar role, especially in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in accounting software; NetSuite ERP experience is a plus.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, including data analysis and reconciliation.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
