Director Software Quality Engineering

Job Purpose:

This position will manage a large number of resources that span multiple agile teams that are responsible for developing and maintaining products which caters to Cendyn’s clients in hospitality sector. As a Director of Software Quality Engineering, you are responsible for managing all software Quality Testing functions within Cendyn, working with cross-departmental leaders to deliver high quality software on schedule. This includes overseeing functions that evaluates and monitors tools, methodologies, and automation to ensure effective testing and identification of defects. This individual will be a change agent in our transformation to building, inspiring and guiding quality engineering teams to deliver best in class test automation frameworks.

Responsibilities:

• Delivering to Business Unit expectations from testing during Software Delivery of various products.
• Provide thought leadership to enhance quality, expediency and reduce costs.
• Review quality of testing deliverables, take remedial action as needed. Articulate status and escalate issues that need executive attention.
• Ensure efficiency across all aspects of QC including test design, automation, test execution across all aspects of testing including Functional, Automation, Performance and other non-functional testing.
• Oversees integration and user acceptance testing efforts.
• Engage with business unit leaders to understand priorities with testing and quality, analyze challenges to construct solutions and showcase them.
• Lead Quality associates in reporting hierarchy, engage and manage career aspirations.
• Articulate value and performance of Testing Delivery Unit to Executives
• Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing personal growth opportunities.
• Publish status reports and communicate success, impediments and risks.
• Attend Scrum meetings to help scrum teams with decisions.
• Resolve day to days issues (Resource allocation, priority changes, questions from clients and partners) by working with scrum teams.
• Manage budgets associated with project delivery, travel expenses, software and other IT expenditure.
• Manage budgets related to associate compensation, bonus, engagement, development and enablement.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, and Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Minimum of 15 years of professional experience in a Software Development, Technology, or related industry
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience of Software Quality Testing experience in Automation Testing and Manual Testing.
• Demonstrated ability in the creation of quality standards, tools, and methodologies.
• Experience planning and executing end to end testing of integrated systems including validation of the integration layer.
• Experience with API testing to ensure functionality, reliability, performance, and security.
• Expertise in performing different types of Testing: Black box, GUI, Integration, Regression, Backend, System, End-to-End and User Acceptance Testing.
• Experience of DevOps in CI/CD and setting up of test environments.
• The position requires strong communication skills and will include work across multiple teams.
• Hands-on experience on Jira, Selenium, Xray, JMeter and Confluence required
• Experience in strategic planning execution and policy development
• Experience in hiring, terminating, and development of both associate and managerial level staff.
• Demonstrated conflict management and delegation skills.
• Proven history of management by metrics
• Proven leadership ability

Work Timings:

Monday through Friday from 12 PM to 9 PM IST. This will provide healthy overlap between India team and US team and supporting both to ensure adequate collaboration. This role will be working in Hybrid Mode and will require at least 2 days’ work from office at Hyderabad.

Travel:

This position may require up to 15% of travel. Travel may be within India, international, overnight, and outside of regular business hours.
