Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

JOB SUMMARY
Continuing Education and Workforce Development at Cecil College is currently looking for a part-time instructor to teach Shielded Metal ARC and MIG & TIG welding classes.
- We are looking for talented, motivated, and reliable instructors to provide instruction on:
- The fundamentals of stick, MIG, and TIG welding
- Working knowledge of the theory of the various types of welding and ability to teach and demonstrate the processes
- A thorough knowledge of the methods, safety, materials, tools and equipment used in welding
- Additional responsibilities include: Supervising and monitoring students' use of tools and equipment. Observing and evaluating students' work to determine progress, providing feedback, and making suggestions for improvement. Maintain attendance and administrative forms.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- AWS Certifications in the various welding processes
- 5+ years of recent welding experience
- Must be proficient in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW
- Must be adept at instructing adult students at various skill levels
- Must have flexibility in availability, including evenings
- Teaching experience highly preferred
Schedule: Thursday from 5-9pm
Physical Demands:
Physical Demands: Must be able to lift and move up to a maximum of 50 lbs. The physical activity of this position includes, but is not limited to: climbing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, pulling, lifting, grasping, twisting and sitting.
Work Environment:
The worker will be subject to dust, noise, fumes, and odors. The worker will be exposed to inside and outside environmental conditions. Safety equipment will be provided where needed and required to be worn or used.
