About Us:

Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. The College is governed by a Board of Trustees appointed by the governor. The College’s fifth president, Dr. Mary Way Bolt, reports directly to the Board of Trustees.

Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

With a diverse student population, Cecil College enrolls approximately 2,500 credit students and 3,400 non-credit students. Cecil offers associate degrees, certificate programs and non-credit classes. Cecil offers a variety of associate degree and certificate programs.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Program Coordinator supports the implementation and coordination of workforce development programs by managing logistics, facilitating communication, supporting contract training, and ensuring compliance with data and reporting standards. This position plays a critical role in aligning educational programs with industry needs and enhancing the student experience through direct support and administrative coordination.

Due to the need for regular interaction with students, employees, and the college community, this position requires an on-site presence. However, it is also eligible for telework in accordance with the Telework Policy.

SPECIFIC DUTIES INCLUDE:

  • Coordinate course logistics, materials, and facilities across various training sites.
  • Act as liaison to instructors, employers, and agency partners to ensure smooth program delivery.
  • Support contract training programs through curriculum research, enrollment tracking, and client communication.
  • Manage documentation for student progress, evaluations, and program compliance.
  • Draft contracts, prepare grant reports, and support financial documentation.
  • Serve as the initial point of contact for prospective and current students.
  • Assist with program marketing, data entry, and report generation.
  • Support special events, registration, and orientation activities.
  • Serve on college and external committees as directed by supervisor and/or designee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree required in business, education, or a related field.
  • At least three years of experience in workforce training, customer service, education, or project management.
  • Experience in contract training or grant-funded programming preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to interact effectively with students, staff, external partners, and high-level officials.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to work with databases and spreadsheets.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced, multitasking environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Ability to travel to off-site training locations as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE:

  • General schedule is Monday-Friday; 8am-4:30pm.
  • Must be available for occasional evenings or weekend assignments. Flexibility in work hours may be required depending on departmental needs.
  • Requires occasional travel to class sites, off-campus facilities or meetings.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • This position classifies the physical exertion requirements as sedentary work involving lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as office or meeting and training rooms, e.g., use of safe work place practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, and observance of fire and building safety regulations, and traffic signals when driving

This is an exempt (salaried) position; Grade 113 (pay scale: $51,005-$81,609). The budgeted salary and offer will be between $51,005-$54,000 based on budget. Applicants' initial salary placement is based on internal equity and relevant candidate experience. This position is NOT eligible for overtime.
