About Us:

Founded in 1968 to meet the post-secondary and continuing education needs of Cecil County residents, Cecil College has been serving the community and shaping its future for more than 50 years. Cecil College is centrally located in Maryland’s most northeastern county, just one half mile from Interstate 95. It is easily accessible from Philadelphia and Baltimore, as well as from Wilmington, Delaware.

General Duties:

The Home Inspection instructor will plan, organize and teach the discipline of home inspection to prepare students for the National Home Inspector Exam. The instructor is responsible for presenting and demonstrating curriculum content as well as evaluating student grasp of theory and practical application.

As a part-time instructor, you will train students in your field of expertise using accepted and approved instructional methodology. The successful candidate will perform and teach curriculum following industry standards. The instructor will provide instruction to students on: standards of practice, electrical, roofing, exteriors, plumbing, air conditioning, structural, and more as it relates to home inspections.

Schedule: the 75-hour course is offered twice a year (fall and spring semester), meeting twice a week in the evenings. A total of 6 hours a week is required.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years working as a home inspector
  • Home Inspection License
  • Excellence in oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
  • Professional attitude and a desire to help students succeed.
  • Teaching experience preferred
