A leading biotechnology company is seeking a Facilities Technician to support R&D laboratory and cGMP facility operations. This role will focus on maintaining building systems, supporting lab operations, and coordinating facility services to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant environments that enable critical research and manufacturing activities.
Facilities Technician Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day operation, maintenance, and monitoring of facility systems, including HVAC, compressed air, vacuum, CO2 systems, and building management systems, ensuring continuous operations across R&D and cGMP environments.
- Analyze and respond to work orders, alarms, and maintenance requests, performing troubleshooting, standard repairs, and recommending corrective actions to minimize operational disruptions.
- Coordinate and manage external service providers for routine maintenance and emergency response, while performing maintenance rounds, documenting activities, and ensuring compliance with SOPs and CMMS processes.
- Maintain facility assets, inventory, and documentation, including asset tagging, maintenance logs, work order records, and materials procurement for repairs and upkeep.
- Support facility operations by assisting skilled trades (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), performing inspections, preparing job estimates, and promoting safety, compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Facilities Technician Qualifications:
- 4+ years of related facilities, maintenance, or technical experience.
- Experience supporting building systems such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related utilities.
- Experience with Building Management Systems such as Siemens Desigo or similar platforms.
- Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to write reports and interact with internal teams and service providers.
- Basic troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in facilities or maintenance environments.
