A leading digital streaming network seeks a Senior Accountant to be responsible for month-end close activities, journal entry preparation, account reconciliations, cash receipts and accounts receivable support, financial reporting, and partnering with cross-functional finance teams to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.
Senior Accountant Responsibilities:
- Prepare, review, and post high-volume journal entries throughout the monthly close cycle, including network revenue, participation statements, studio, capital, and ad hoc entries, ensuring accurate account coding and revenue recognition.
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate and resolve variances, support cash receipts and accounts receivable activities, apply customer payments, generate AR aging reports, and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in the general ledger.
- Support month-end and quarter-end close activities by preparing close calendars, assisting with audit deliverables, organizing financial documentation, and distributing daily financial reports to finance leadership.
- Review production delivery schedules, coordinate with internal stakeholders to validate delivery information, maintain financial documentation, and support reporting accuracy across multiple business functions.
- Collaborate with Controllership, FP&A, and cross-functional teams to perform financial analysis, improve accounting processes, ensure compliance with GAAP, and complete ad hoc accounting and reporting projects.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience with ownership of month-end close activities.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA or progress toward CPA certification is preferred.
- Experience in preparing and posting journal entries.
- Experience performing account reconciliations.
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, and financial reporting.
- Experience in the media, entertainment, or studio industry is preferred.
- Experience with participation accounting or revenue recognition is preferred.
- Experience with Oracle Fusion or a comparable ERP system is preferred.
Shift:
- 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
- Some overtime is expected on the month-end.
