National Audio Visual Technician - Show Site and Warehouse

Job Description

Summary of Position

The AV Technician sets up, operates, and strikes audiovisual equipment in breakout rooms and general session environments. In this role, you will have knowledge of projection with a desire to advance your skill set. This is a local and national traveling role with travel up to 200 or more days per year. Show hours are determined based on the needs of the event and the employee will work in the Tempe warehouse when not on show site.

Prerequisites

  • General knowledge of audiovisual equipment and its operation, with a greater depth of knowledge related to video equipment, specifically video projection.

  • Strong Understanding of the AV industry, with a minimum of one year’s experience working directly with audiovisual equipment and understanding workflows for staging production; specialized in video projection.

  • Advanced AV technical knowledge and intermediate skills in projection, video equipment operation, repair, and maintenance.

  • Experience in event production in corporate, theater, and/or entertainment industries.

  • Ability to manage technical production for live events and provide superior customer service skills in order to work well with both internal and external customers.

  • Advanced skills in projection, projection device technologies, video, and control systems.

  • Experience with setup and installation of visual displays such as widescreen projection, video walls or LED walls.

  • System engineering experience; knowledge of video image processing.

  • Familiar with electrical systems, mechanical engineering, wiring diagrams, and lighting design.

  • Knowledge of production pipeline for corporate and stanging production.

  • Ability to operate a variety of AV equipment for live events and provide support to show site management.

  • Basic knowledge of MAC OC, Edit (video/audio).

  • Basic knowledge of film and/or photography techniques, including lighting.

Summary of Essential Job Duties

  • Update orders in Intelivent

  • Projection alignment and lens formulas.

  • Projection screen assembly, packing, and maintenance upkeep.

  • Working knowledge of signal type, path, distribution and conversation, scalers, fiber optic systems, and routers to ensure proper set-up.

  • Be able to access power distribution and voltage.

  • Set up equipment based on CAD drawings.

  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, technical directors, producers, and end clients.

  • Work on ladders, scissor lifts, and boom lifts as needed.

  • Assist in the warehouse with quality control (QC), pulling, prepping, and loading equipment.

  • Potential duties include driving class B trucks, and operating forklifts; certification required.

  • Other duties as assigned by the Director of operations.
