Job Description and Responsibilities:

Allogene Therapeutics is seeking an independent and highly motivated individual to conduct studies to evaluate the efficacy and persistence of CAR T cells in the allogeneic setting. The successful applicant will provide scientific and technical expertise to investigate T cell and NK cell alloreactivity and develop assays to validate genetic modifications that may enhance the persistence of allogeneic CAR T cells. The ideal candidate is an individual who is excited to take on new challenges in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.

  • Design and execute in vivo studies to assess mouse and human T and NK cell alloreactivity
  • Design and execute in vitro assays to assess mouse and human T and NK cell alloreactivity
  • Investigate genetic modifications that may prevent alloreactivity and/or sustain the persistence of CAR T cells in the allogeneic environment
  • Contribute to a collaborative group effort to advance next-generation AlloCAR T cell therapies into the clinic
  • Stay abreast of latest scientific and technology advancements in the field
  • Present at internal meetings and conferences
  • Other duties as required


  • PhD degree candidate in immunology or related discipline with 0-3 years of post-doctoral research experience or Master of Science degree of 4+ years of experience in academic or industry setting or Bachelor’s degree with 6+ years of experience
  • Experience and strong interest in cell therapy and/or immuno-oncology research
  • Experience in immune cell isolation and culture, and proficiency in flow cytometry-based characterization of immune cells
  • Ability to design and execute in vitro and in vivo studies to evaluate mouse and human CAR T cell activity
  • Hands-on experience with mouse models (e.g. animal dosing, blood and tissue collection, IVIS imaging) is preferred
  • Experience with cell-based assays for alloreactivity (e.g. MLR) is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in gene editing technologies including CRISPR/Cas9 is preferred
  • Hands-on experience in retroviral/lentiviral transduction of mouse and human T cells is preferred
  • Proactive attitude and strong desire to be part of a team working together to overcome obstacles
  • Strong oral presentation and communication skills
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
