Allogene Therapeutics, with headquarters in South San Francisco, is a clinical-stage biotechnology company pioneering the development of allogeneic chimeric antigen receptor T cell (AlloCAR T) products for cancer and autoimmune disease. Led by a management team with significant experience in cell therapy, Allogene is developing a pipeline of “off-the-shelf” CAR T cell product candidates with the goal of delivering readily available cell therapy on-demand, more reliably, and at greater scale to more patients.
About the role:
We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join us as an Associate Director, SAP Center of Excellence, serving as the SAP Business Owner for Allogene's SAP ERP platform. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a proven record of sustaining and scaling enterprise systems in a regulated, cross-functional environment. As Associate Director, SAP Center of Excellence, the candidate owns the SAP Center of Excellence and SAP roadmap/strategy, is accountable for the validated state of the SAP system per SOP and drives continuous improvement of business processes to meet current operations and future commercial needs for Allogene Therapeutics. The position will be located at Allogene headquarters in South San Francisco, CA.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Own the SAP Center of Excellence and drive the SAP roadmap and strategy, balancing sustainment of current operations with capabilities required for future commercial readiness.
- Serve as SAP Business Owner per SOP, accountable for the validated state of the SAP system, including approval of service provider and shared account exceptions, incident response determination, user training, user security request approval and business continuity decisions.
- Partner with IT (System Owner) and Quality to maintain SAP compliance with GxP, SOX, and Allogene computerized system procedures, including change controland user access management.
- Develop and present business cases, project plans, and governance materials for new SAP capabilities and expansions; facilitate appropriate governance committees.
- Define and maintain end-to-end SAP process ownership across plan, source, make, and deliver in partnership with finance and procurement; oversee staff accountable for master data management.
- Lead the super user network and change management strategy for long-term sustainment and continuous improvement of core business processes.
- Coordinate user acceptance testing, regression testing, and release assessments with functional groups and the Core Team to ensure successful delivery.
- Monitor SAP software updates and releases, assess potential GxP impact, and drive follow-on actions such as specification updates and testing.
- Develop long-term planning tools and methodologies, including enhanced forecasting and advanced supply chain methods.

Position Requirements & Experience:
- BS required; degree in business management/science/engineering a plus. Master's degree (MBA) a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in an ERP, operations or supply chain role in biotech/pharma.
- Proven experience serving as a Business Owner or Business Process Owner for a live SAP (or comparable ERP) system in a GxP/validated environment — including change control, user access, incident management, and business continuity.
- Experience building or scaling an SAP/ERP Center of Excellence, including super user networks and governance models.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, SOX, and computerized system lifecycle requirements (validation, change control, periodic review).
- Proven change leadership and project management skills; experience developing and mentoring staff.
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with broad stakeholders (IT, Finance, Manufacturing, Logistics, Quality, Supply Chain) across scientific/technical/business disciplines.
- Ability to objectively evaluate options/trade-offs and develop executive management-level recommendations.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence all levels of staff, including executives.
