Ruby Developer, UserVoice.com, San Francisco, CA
UserVoice is the simplest way for companies to listen and engage their customers online. We're out to change the way companies communicate with, and more importantly understand, their customers. We're a leader in our space with tens of thousands of organizations that use our platform and millions of end-users every month. We're based in San Francisco but are ramping up an office in Raleigh to help us grow (where our CEO is originally from). We've already made a couple of key hires but are looking for more talented folks who would enjoy the benefits of working at a startup: building something that matters and the ability to take ownership in what you craft. You won't be just some cog in a wheel. We're a small team and everyone is in charge of important components.

We are looking for truly talented Ruby developers (or aspiring Ruby developers) with a passion for writing clean code and building great products. Our current technology stack includes Ruby on Rails, MySQL, Redis, MongoDB, Memcached, Sphinx, and Resque. This list gets longer as our problems evolve, so you'll need to be excited about learning and applying new solutions.
We write good code, and we write tests for it. You should be comfortable with testing frameworks such as Test::Unit or Rspec.
We are working on an exciting mix of improving and scaling our highly successful Feedback product, as well as taking the Customer Support industry by storm with our recent UserVoice Helpdesk product. And as always, we continue to ensure our architecture and scalability are up to the task!
We’re a small team of passionate folks who strive to be the best. We make a lot of jokes, most of which we can’t publish here. We work hard, and we don’t accept anything that’s sub-par. You should check out our values here: http://uservoice.com/about/index#company_values

By working hard and being passionate about what we do, UserVoice builds surprisingly humane software that lets companies connect with their customers through feedback forums and through our amazing support system. We do this by building tools that foster customer understanding, not deflection. We do this by listening to our own customers constantly and carefully, to find out what they need. We do this by actually giving a shit.
Through our quick iterative process and intuitive user interface, UserVoice is profitable and growing rapidly. We’ve collected over 1 million ideas for over 50 thousand organizations, including some of the largest and most interesting companies in the world such as Meebo, Intuit, Microsoft, AOL, Posterous, and the cities of Vancouver, Austin, and San Francisco.
