You are a pre-sales superstar, deeply technical with great customer skills, and know how to successfully work as a trusted advisor to ensure the success of prospects and customers. You have a strong background in data & technology (BS CS or similar) and have successfully sold and/or deployed Business Intelligence solutions into a specific territory in the recent past. You are familiar with Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects and other similar BI vendors, and are deeply familiar with the analyst BI workflow. You engage with business analysts confidently and succinctly and understand how they want to interact with data.
When it comes to deploying mission-critical enterprise software, you are the expert; this can be demonstrated by a track record of happy, referenceable customers. They appreciate your technical acumen and your diligence: No details about a customer project get by you.
As our key technical advisor and product advocate, you will actively drive and manage the sales process from technology evaluation through customer success. You will engage with prospects to help them understand the power of Platfora and why legacy BI tooling doesn’t help them answer the bigger, more strategic “why” questions. You’ll educate prospects on the difference between operational BI and exploratory BI solutions, and how Hadoop’s scalable data store enables the power of Platfora to deliver strategic value to the business.
Working with our exec and sales teams, you will strategize and execute on opportunities, including running technical presentations, meeting with and gathering technical background and requirements from customers and prospects, creating project plans, and managing solution pilots. You will also be doing customer installs, configuration and troubleshooting, and, contributing to the product though real-use feedback and field development. Finally, you’ll contribute to Platfora’s marketing efforts through blog postings, public presentations on differentiated use cases, and perhaps even the occasional press interview.
Coming from a technical background, you have previous, successful experience owning a sales territory from a technical perspective. You could even be called “CTO of your territory” – you are respected by your peers, can close a deal from a technical perspective, and are viewed as an impartial technical advocate by your customers.
Your communication skills are second to none. You have presented to and handled objections from small to large customer audiences in the past. You have demonstrable experience providing technical leadership with the customer, take pleasure in getting a win-win deal sealed, and know how to follow through to ensure a delighted customer.
Your brain is always firing and you love coming up with ways to continually build trust with your teams, and create more value for our customers. You’ve had previous experience with early stage technologies and enjoy the adventure that comes along with this.
You will become expert in Platfora’s Big Data Analytics solution, so having BI, MPP and/or DW experience is necessary. This is a hands-on role – be ready to jump in and use the product from Day One.
