Marketing Specialist - Events

DataXu seeks a highly motivated Marketing Specialist to support a fast-paced marketing team as they increase visibility and awareness of DataXu’s brand, initiatives, executives, and products. This is an exciting opportunity for a recent graduate to get hands-on experience across marketing functions, and work with a dynamic marketing team in a fast-growing company with a promising future.

This full-time position will be based in our Boston HQ offices.


Concept and manage major thought leadership customer and industry conferences, including venue research, site inspections, content development, speaker recruitment, sponsorships sales and attendee recruitment.

Manage industry and regional ad club event sponsorships

Work with sales to host roundtables, agency education days and regional innovation dinners

Develop pre-event and post event promotions and communication

Relationship-building with key stakeholders and industry leaders

Establish staff schedules, task assignments and materials allocation to ensure conformance with department objectives and goals.

Determine fiscal requirements and prepare budgetary recommendations.

Negotiate agreement with outside providers and subcontractors to ensure lowest cost and highest quality of service.

Track leads and ROI for all initiatives

Manage budgets and financials for all activities

Update and maintain CRM and marketing automation system to measure marketing revenue

Pre-event and onsite communication with delegates.

BA/BS in Communications or Marketing required

1-3 years relevant work experience in Digital advertising or enterprise marketing solutions

Must have strong verbal and written communications skills

Excellent project management and problem solving skills

Must be self-motivated and have strong attention to detail

Must be willing to learn, be able to meet deadlines, and have a "can-do" attitude

Experience in more than one of the following disciplines a plus:

o Budget management

o Financial and lead tracking

o Contract negotiations

o Excellent computer and technology skills

o Solid experience with event planning logistics and ability to drive successful programs

Technical Requirements:

Experience with SalesForce, WordPress and social media platforms preferred

Knowledge of online measurement applications, such as HootSuite, PeopleBrwsr and Google Analytics, a plus

Basic HTML and/or design capabilities (such as Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) a big plus

Proficiency with MS Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is necessary
