About the Role
This is a hands-on position and will be responsible for developing and maintaining accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and monthly closing. The role manages the accounting function to ensure that work is properly allocated and completed in a timely and accurate manner. This position addresses tight deadlines and a multitude of accounting activities including general ledger preparation, financial reporting, year end audit preparation and the support of budget and forecast activities.  


  • Perform day-to-day accounting activities including but not limited to A/R, A/P, Payroll
  • Maintain the G/L and the chart of accounts using Quickbooks Onine software
  • Perform month-end accounting close functions including preparing journal entries, analyses and reconciliations
  • Responsible for the preparation of financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP as well as providing written analyses of variances against prior periods and budgets and performing a monthly review with COO
  • Perform FAS 123R calculations
  • Work directly with COO to plan and formulate an annual financial budget and revenue forecast; perform budget analysis
  • Ensure all financial and accounting controls are in place, documented and regularly tested to protect company's assets
  • Coordinate annual audit and be the primary interface with the external auditors
  • Oversee tax planning and tax filings; coordinate the preparation of tax provision and federal and state income tax returns by tax advisors
  • Maintain key relations with banks and other financial institutions
  • Oversee and implement ERP accounting software to meet growing corporate needs

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, Finance or Business
  • CPA or equivalent required with an excellent, comprehensive, strong working knowledge and understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • 3-5 years of relevant skills and prior experience in a similar role
  • 2+ years prior experience in the financial reporting/general ledger area
  • 1-2 years prior experience with web-based strat-up highly preferred
  • Technical expertise in revenue recognition and stock-based compensation a plus
  • Ability to prepare, analyze and interpret financial data
  • Excellent systems and operational skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office products, Quickbooks and stock option maintenance software
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Experience working with multiple currencies a plus
