Yonder is a bold new digital service that provides users with legal access to music. We charge no subscription fees or download charges and provide access to millions of tracks, including regional and local content, with no commercials. Our service replaces a consumer’s need for paid or freemium streaming services, internet radio, and piracy. Our mission is to democratize the music business. Yonder is bundled into qualified mobile plans, which shifts payment responsibility away from consumers and onto network operators. This approach increases the addressable market for legal digital music consumption. It also creates a pool of license revenue to pay artists and composers in direct proportion to their plays.

The Position:

The Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper is responsible for supporting the finance department, in the New York office and collaborate with the Asia Finance team in preparing budgets, maintaining reports, and completing basic bookkeeping and accounting duties for the company.

Assistant Accountant/Bookkeeper Job Duties:

  • Prepare financial documents such as invoices, bills, and accounts payable and receivable
  • AP management, completing financial reports on a regular basis and providing information to the finance team
  • Assist with budgets and preparing Balance Sheet
  • Complete bank reconciliations
  • Enter financial information into appropriate software programs
  • Manage company ledgers
  • Process business expenses
  • Coordinate internal and external audits
  • Must be familiar with month-end close, bank reconciliations, vendor account reconciliation
  • Assist in resolving errors in financial reports and correcting detected faults and mistakes

Assistant Accountant Skills and Qualifications:

  • Working in a similar capacity for at least 2-3 years
  • Fully conversant with QuickBooks On Line version
  • Hands on working experience with QuickBooks desktop
  • Detailed oriented and organized
  • Knowledge of US GAAP preferred but is not essential
  • Some experience of external audit is preferred
  • Some experience of tax preparation is preferred but is not essential
  • Some experience in foreign currency transactions is preferred but is not essential
  • Should be a self-starter in routine bookkeeping
  • Must be fully proficient with MS Office, esp. Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Willing to work long hours due to multiple time zones
  • Excellent team spirit and people skills
