WX bottling facility is located in Sonoma, and we are seeking a cellar worker to join its team. Currently the standard work week for this position is from 5:30AM–4:00PM, Tuesday – Friday.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Bottling startup, including steam sterilization checks
  • Ensure cellar compliance with all safety procedures and policies
  • Maintain up-to-date inventory of all cellar equipment and supplies
  • Maintain the cellar and all cellar equipment in clean, organized (5S), operating order
  • Cleaning, sanitizing and sterilizing all winery equipment, bottling equipment, tanks, and facilities
  • Performs wine movements as instructed per work orders
  • Operates a variety of wine filters (Pad, cross-flow, etc)
  • Accurately records tank measurements
  • Accurately makes wine adjustments (DO, CO2, SO2)
  • Loading/unloading tanker trucks
  • Accurately records work completed on work orders, receiving reports and cellar documents
  • Perform other routine cellar work
  • Other duties as assigned by the Bottling Manager
  • Fork lift experience/certification a plus

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 3-5 years previous cellar experience with similar responsibilities
  • Minimum education requirement: HS Diploma
  • The ability to communicate effectively and follow verbal and written instructions, with good skills in reading and writing and use of mathematical skills daily.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and have a good work ethic
  • Must be able to read and interpret a wide variety of documents
  • Must be willing to work flexible hours as needed including overtime and varying shifts
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. on a repetitive basis
  • Requires repetitive squatting & strenuous pulling of hoses, equipment, and pumps
  • Can withstand extreme cellar temperature conditions (outside & inside)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Complete winery equipment & winery standard operating procedure knowledge
  • Valid CA driver’s license and must be 21
  • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English language. Bilingual with Spanish a plus
  • Understands winemaking principals and objectives
