HOL Production | Getzville, NY | Full Time | From $17.00 to $18.00 per hour

About the Position

The Hein Company seeks a versatile Production Associate that will float between different departments and buildings on occasion. One day you may be working on data entry and providing customer service, and the next helping us receive and ship out packages.

The Production Associates responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


  • Entering new titles into our Titles Database and all bibliographic information
  • Maintaining records on all borrowed materials
  • Checking copyright on new titles that we will be digitizing
  • Processing updates to records in the Titles Database


  • Operating various scanners to digitize content.
  • Completing quality checks which includes cleaning images and identifying any unclear images or missing pages. Performing rescans to ensure content meets appropriate quality standards.
  • Applying page numbers to scanned/digitized content.
  • Operating the large guillotine cutter to remove book bindings

 HeinOnline Production

  • Proofreading author names, book citations, and article titles.
  • Typing in division titles, articles, notes, authors, etc. and adding the proper citation format for books and journals.
  • Performing a quality check of the images, page numbers, and data entered by other Associates.



  • Performing the Shipping & Receiving duties in a backup capacity. This includes receiving packages, pulling inventory, preparing packages for shipment, processing mail, providing shipping quotes, and unloading/loading delivery trucks.
  • Driving between the facilities to drop off and pick up various items, in a backup capacity.
  • Any additional responsibilities as assigned by Management.

  • Ability to communicate in a positive and productive manner.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to carry out tasks and determine a course of action based on a variety of variables for each given situation.  
  • Excellent time management with a proven ability to meet goals/deadlines
  • Proficient working in a Windows environment and with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to type a minimum of 50 words per minute

Required Education/Experience

  • A High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working in an office setting and providing customer service
  • Valid driver’s license

Monday – Friday; 8:00am to 4:30pm



$17.00 to $18.00 per hour, depending on experience
