Wondercide is looking for a self-directed Supply Chain Buyer/Planner to minimize shortages and keep costs down. The job is not only about logistics and purchasing inventory, but also providing operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage entire purchasing process including evaluating inventory needs, issuing purchase orders, communicating with vendors, arranging freight as needed, negotiating pricing, and evaluating suppliers. Buys according to demand  and forecasts to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing flow.

  • Verify inventory receipts  and invoices, manage the receiving process in the accounting platform. Verifies receipt of items by comparing items received to items ordered, resolves shipments in error (or damages) with suppliers.

  • Maintains strong communication with supervisor and coworkers, ensuring information is relayed to relevant parties.

  • Keeps information accessible by sorting and filing documents.

  • Supports supervisor in purchasing planning by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.

  • Responsible for evaluating, assessing and selecting vendors based on capabilities, performance and consistent quality. Maintains rapport and good working relationships with vendors; keeps accurate vendor records. 

  • Evaluates inventory reorder levels and quantity price breaks to determine most economical purchasing of inventory and supplies. Makes all updates across departments as needed (reorder point cards, etc)

  • Works cross departmentally supporting product launches,  special projects and R&D.

  • Works with supervisor to negotiate contracts and rates with shipping lines, freight forwarders, etc.

  • Create daily production schedules to ensure adequate supply and agreements are met for all sales channels.

  • Demand planning for all of manufacturing including daily, weekly, monthly reporting as required ie: kpi’s, goal to actuals, forecast to actuals

  • Work with supervisor on reporting variances to management, and supporting in forecasting for supply chain and demand planning. 

  • Maintain and monitor operations KPI’s 

  • Create forecasting to assist in budgeting, planning, and purchasing.

  • Special projects as needed

This position is full-time, salaried position at our Austin, TX headquarters off Burnet Rd., near Mopac and 183. This position reports to Operations Manager II.
