Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A and Stategic Finance

Finance | Hybrid in San Leandro, CA | Full Time | From $112,000.00 to $125,000.00 per year

Wine.com is looking for a Sr. Financial Analyst, FP&A and Strategic Finance to support the development of our financial planning and analysis function. Reporting to the Director of FP&A and Strategic Finance, you will be a trusted partner to stakeholders across the company and responsible for driving strategic finance decisions. You will support key strategic and financial planning projects & processes, including strategy development, planning, financial forecasting, budgeting, financial reporting, and investment analysis. This is a visible position and has significant impact on the company’s performance. The role will support Wine.com’s financial planning and reporting capabilities. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, highly motivated and capable of taking initiative and driving to results.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with key stakeholders to provide end-to-end FP&A support, including but not limited to: annual budgeting, opex/capex forecasting, financial reporting/analytical support, analyzing ROIs, and driving strategic initiatives
  • Manage and track financial performance against annual budget, financial plans, and KPIs
  • Analyze variances to plan and forecast, providing insight on current and expected trends, and identifying areas of risk and opportunities
  • Participate in the accounting close process and provide analysis of results for internal and external reporting
  • Develop and maintain financial models and tools for investment evaluations, pricing analyses, long range plans, budgets, forecasts, etc.
  • Drive ad-hoc analysis and scenario modeling to aid in decision-making for marketing, operations, merchandising and analytics teams
  • Support strategic finance projects including fundraising, strategic investments, various capital markets activities, and other ad-hoc projects
  • Prepare presentations to communicate business & financial plans and results for senior management, board of directors and investor community

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • BS degree in Finance or Business and Technical related field
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in financial planning and/or finance related experience
  • Strong financial modeling skills in Excel and proficiency in PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of ecommerce, digital marketing, and e-commerce sectors
  • Ability to prioritize and work to deadlines on multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves in a hands-on capacity and collaborate cross-functionally
  • Thrives in an environment that is fast-paced, rapidly changing, and customer service-oriented
  • Must demonstrate strong strategic, analytical, interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Passion to be on a collaborative team that is helping customers discover the incredible world of wine
  • Consumer retail experience is a plus but not required
  • Experience implementing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting tools. Experience with Tableau is a plus
