Inventory Manager (Highjump WMS proficient)

Job Description

Job Summary

Wine.com is looking for an Inventory Manager in our Westbury, Long Island NY location with experience working with HighJump WMS and Microsoft Dynamics 365. The inventory manager will have the overall responsibility of leading and overseeing the inventory management function for the entire warehouse operations.

Job Responsibilities

  • Overseeing the entire movement and flow of inventory throughout the warehouse, including receiving and staging, put-away, replenishment, cycle-counting and physical inventory, all returned inventory, pick exceptions and shipment resolution functions
  • Performing inventory movement activities and is the designated super-user and local expert on Warehouse Management System inventory functionality
  • Super user of WMS in activities including;  replenishment of active bins from reserve locations and working exception picks that are missing items; resolving customer shipments through a variety of means; processing and managing customer returns; conducting manual daily cycle counts on a rotating basis and leading the monthly physical inventory process
  • Managing SKU reserve and forward-pick location assignments, including working with merchandising to determine SKU slotting requirements based on anticipated and forecasted sales
  • Monitoring overall physical inventory accuracy within the warehouse, monitors physical LC inventory quantities against logical inventory quantities reflected in the company’s enterprise system; alerts departments of unexplained discrepancies
  • Ensuring proper physical controls regarding inventory are in place and monitored
  • Identifying and recommending process changes and/or system enhancements to improve inventory related LC operational procedures
  • Operating material handling equipment with appropriate training or certification
  • Working with multiple departments on inventory management, control and reporting.
  • Working with the Merchandising Department in maintaining benchmark and targeted inventory coverage models and alerting when supplies are exceeding or dropping below governing models
  • Working with the Finance Department in ensuring inventory accuracy and alignment across the physical, logical and book inventory levels
  • Working with the Customer Service Department in determining and executing actions to resolve customer order exceptions due to inventory issues
  • Report on inventory related tasks, inventory levels and overall inventory accuracy to executive management
  • Managing the recruitment and training of new inventory warehouse associates

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or similar
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar role
  • Knowledge and experience using Warehouse Management Systems, specifically Highjump WMS
  • Knowledge and experience using Enterprise Resource Systems, specifically Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • Extensive knowledge of all company products
  • Knowledge of warehouse operations and procedures
  • Highly organized with a relentless attention to detail
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
