Job Summary:

The Lead Dispensary Associate partners and supports the Management Team to ensure operational compliance, meet sales metrics, drive staff performance excellence, and reach optimal customer satisfaction that Windy City Cannabis is known for. We are looking for a friendly dedicated leader that thrives in a dynamic environment to serve as a keyholder and Agent-In-Charge at our cannabis dispensary. You must have open availability to open and close the store before and after daily operations to ensure the store is always clean and customer-ready. Lead Dispensary Associates will comply with all state, federal, and local laws and IDFPR regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Perform Front of House and Back of House Agent in Charge duties

  • Coach and provide feedback to dispensary associates

  • Resolve customer issues that arise in accordance with company policy

  • Set a positive and supportive environment for employees in accordance with company values

  • Ability to navigate State inspections and recap results

  • Utilize internal project management system on a daily basis

  • Act as technical and operational support for team throughout the day

  • Provide training and oversight for new associates

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include supporting daily opening and closing activities, coaching the team on best practices, and handling the daily task. Lead Dispensary Associates will be responsible for destructions, mock audits, managing samples, in-store communication, cannabis and non-cannabis inventory, record retention, general store cleanliness, marketable layout build-up, and training. Leads may be assigned specialized training and responsibility for one or more of these areas but are required to understand and be able to execute all functions when appropriate. Other duties as assigned.

  • Cashier: Must demonstrate mastery of POS system and embody excellent customer service. Embrace company directed conversations at POS with customers including making product recommendations, ensuring accurate inventory management, de-escalation of customer concerns, accurate cash handling and compliance with all state laws.

  • Host: Be a welcoming first interaction with all customers entering dispensary, must be friendly, positive, display exceptional customer service and have excellent product knowledge. This position assists customers with placing orders, answering questions and manages the line by having excellent communication with the rest of the store team.

  • Delivery: Lead dispensary associates are responsible for accurately intaking deliveries from cultivators. Compliance is critical and all aspects of state rules must be followed including vendor management, inventory review and confirmation, accurate system intake, reporting of discrepancies and physical preparation of products into bulk and shelf inventory. This includes prepping labels and bins for storage.

  • Order Coordinator: Lead the BOH operations. This role manages orders to be packed and distributes to packing team, communicates with host and POS as well as the other AIC team members to ensure staffing levels are appropriate and adjusted based on business needs and pro-actively manages bulk to shelf inventory moves. This role requires quick thinking and problem solving to know when to adjust to ensure efficient packing and order fulfillment. Provides direction to team to ensure everyone is focused on their assigned tasks.

  • Pick & Pack: this role is focused on accurate and efficient fulfillment of orders and requires mastery of store inventory and vault organization and layout. Taking direction from the Order Coordinator, this role helps execute proactive inventory management, responds to add on requests and recommendations.

  • ID Scanner: The store's first interaction with a customer and must maintain a friendly welcoming demeanor, this role must not only understand compliant verification of IDs for all purchasers but also refer to store guidelines for banned customers, service animals, ensure the vestibule remains clean, manage the line and communicate with security and host as needed.

Education, Credentials, and Experience:

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Ability to obtain a dispensing agent identification card an a Agent in Charge identification card issued by the state of Illinois Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation which requires a background check with no felonies

  • Satisfy company requirements for vaccination against COVID-19, or obtain approved medical or religious exemption

  • Prior experience working in customer service with one year or more prior experience in hospitality, banking, or retail

  • Proficient with operating a computer

Physical Demands:

  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking Prolonged periods of sitting

  • Ability to listen and communicate utilizing a walkie talkie and earpiece

  • Occasionally climbing and descending stairs

  • Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach

  • Ability to carry, lift, push, pull, and move up to 50 lbs

Schedule:

Availability for Full Time (FT) Team Members is defined by the percent of possible operating hours in the week. We calculate operating hours to be approximately 88hrs per week. “Available to work” can include times that an associate or AIC would prefer not to work but can work if needed. REASONABLE: Full-Time associates and AIC's who have 70% or more availability across our weekly operating hours, including some peak days and times, are considered reasonable.
