You’re analytical and thrive admidst chaos. You want to be part of a company - no a community, that’s doing big, collaborative things. Is the fastest growing US entertainment site in the world big enough for you? How about 70 million global unique visitors each month? If that caught your attention, read on.
Wikia, is a collaborative publishing platform that enables and encourages communities to create, discover and share content on virtually any topic from games to recipes and beyond. If you can dream it, chances are there’s already a wiki community for that.
About the role:
As a Senior Product Manager, you will use your data expertise to restructure, analyze and query information to develop what our customers want and need. You will collect data through custom analytics and user-studies. In doing so, you will find the overlap between what the audience wants and what we can provide. You will join a team of sharp, passionate Product Managers, Designers, and Engineers to conceptualize and build new engaging products for the millions of users that engage with Wikia each month. Reporting up to the SVP, Product & Design and managing a small team of product ninjas, this opportunity calls for an ambitious visionary and driver who believes in Wikia’s tenets of knowledge as influence, collaborative creativity, and rich, original content.
You love to discuss metadata, taxonomies and methods. Whether you’re speaking to a team of engineers or marketers, your communication skills are top notch. You speak the language of business with an engineering wherewithal. You’ve demonstrated skills in gathering requirements, writing specs, organizing resources, leading audience surveys and scheduling risk management enough times to make this product life cycle a part of your life cycle. You’re an open source advocate and a lover of community collaboration. Big points for Agile and/or MediaWiki experience.
