Talent Acquisition Specialist

This position is responsible for partnering and aligning with the business to meet talent needs while supporting the organization’s strategic objectives. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the recruiting activities for open requisitions. You will provide leadership on recruitment strategy for current and future positions, acting as a partner and collaborating with hiring managers to most effectively source, screen, interview, and hire top talent for a mission-oriented organization that directly impacts higher education. Main Accountabilities:

  • Develop and maintain solid working relationships with hiring managers and understand the business and positions to best meet the needs of Watermark

  • Implement successful and cost-effective recruiting/sourcing strategies; prepare recruitment advertisements (web-sites, professional publications, etc.); develop recruiting contacts with schools, agencies, search firms etc.

  • Design and drive innovative projects and campaigns (i.e. global social media project, diversity initiatives) to attract top talent while promoting Watermark as an employer of choice

  • Source qualified candidates and make recommendations to hiring managers in a timely manner utilizing effective interviewing and screening techniques

  • Manage the interview process, including scheduling interviews and candidate follow-ups

  • Create candidate pipeline, track upcoming opportunities and assist in strategic planning

  • Document candidate evaluation 

  • Ensure effective and legally compliant hiring process

  • Provide training/resources to staff on effective and legal interviewing

  • Assist and support managers with hiring decisions

  • Prepare employment offers that support internal and market equity

  • Follow internal processes to ensure all required screening, references and verifications are completed prior to hire

  • Identify and develop opportunities for process improvement initiatives

  • Stay informed of changing market conditions and trends in recruitment practices

  • Create and maintain recruitment benchmarking data for all Watermark positions

  • May manage contractual relationships with placement agencies, contract recruiters; contingent, job boards, job fairs and various internet job search websites for posting requisitions and surfacing candidates.

  • Participate and assist with other duties as needed including HR projects, initiatives and projects

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree required

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years recruitment/HR experience, preferably at a SaaS company in EdTech or other Technology sectors

Skills & Prerequisites:

  • In-depth ATS knowledge

  • Experience sourcing and cold-calling candidates

  • Ability to manage multiple searches simultaneously in a fast-paced environment

  • Excellent written &/verbal communication skills

  • Strong customer service orientation

  • Knowledge of current sourcing/recruitment strategies and selection process/interviewing techniques

  • Strong assessment and analytical skills

  • Strong organizational skills and demonstrated ability to meet deadlines

  • Ability to work independently and proactively

  • Substantial knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) required
