Staff Accountant 

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team.  Reporting to our Controller, this person will play a key role by maintaining the accuracy and integrity of sales tax compliance, supporting the annual financial statement audit and Federal and State tax filing process, serving as the internal expert on sale taxes and helping the team build and maintain a comprehensive, organized process for ensuring and maintaining tax compliance.  If you are a natural problem-solver and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we’d love to hear from you.  


  • Ensure the timely and accurate completion and reconciliations of all sales tax filings within all applicable jurisdictions
  • Work closely with the Revenue Operations team to ensure sales tax is appropriately applied to invoices and established processes are being followed
  • Respond and correspond with state agencies as needed to ensure continued compliance with sales tax and other tax matters
  • Prepare and file other periodic State and local tax filings including property tax, commercial rent tax, annual reporting and registrations
  • Prepare schedules and gather requested documents necessary to assist external accountants with the audit and tax return preparation
  • Coordinate cross-team data gathering internally and acting as liaison with the audit and tax firms for supporting documents and maintaining the PBC list
  • Assist the controller and CFO in developing and implementing internal audit procedures to ensure compliance with stated procedures and policies
  • Perform and document the testing and results of the internal audit procedures and make improvement recommendations
  • Assist in the continuous improvement process
  • Responsible for the timely and accurate completion of assigned month-end close reconciliations
  • Support the general ledger accounting including creating new vendors, recording approved journal entries, and other actions to support segregation of duties within the organization
  • Data analysis and interpretation of data and reporting to management
  • Other accounting/finance projects and duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
  • Prior experience with SAGE Intacct and Avalara preferred
  • Prior experience with Ceridian, Certify and FloQast a plus
  • Minimum of 2+ years tax and audit experience, preferably in Public Accounting
  • General understanding of ASC 606, including implications to SaaS revenue recognition
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Proven experience of working with tight deadlines and being able to prioritize multiple tasks
  • Strong team player with ability to work with remote teams cross functionally
  • Highly organized, structured & process-oriented, with great attention to detail and accuracy

  • A quick learner who enjoys overcoming challenges and resolving issues
